
Traveling to South Africa over 12 years ago, Mary-Jane began her journey to becoming a chef. Having already worked in the food industry in Canada, she had an interest in letting it become her choice for a career. After studying hotel and restaurant management at a Swiss-run hotel college, Mary-Jane worked for Sun Hotels in South Africa. On returning to Canada, Mary-Jane continued to gain valuable experience in the local industry before opening Benjamin's in 1999. |

Chef Mary-Jane Feeke is a Red Seal Chef, Red Seal Baker, has her certificate in Vocational Education, Certificate in Adult Education and Bachelor of Education. Chef Mary-Jane attended the Culinary Olympics in Germany in 2008 as a support member for Team Canada. Team Canada placed gold in all categories. She has also competed in the CCFCC Pastry Chef of the Year Competition. Chef Mary-Jane received the notable award of Chef of the Year from the CCFCC Winnipeg Branch in 2011, being the first female to receive this award. She will be attending the Culinary Olympics again in 2012 as Pastry Chef representing Culinary Team Manitoba. | |
